My Pirates 4 Review

Well it has been a few weeks since we had such an awesome time at the Pirates of the Caribbean marathon but I thought that I would kick out my review of the film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

O.k. yes it is another pirates movie, now what. Well the fans are liking it to the sum of 200 million domestically after 3 weeks. So pirates 5 will be at your theater soon. So first some of the likes. Geoffrey Rush is always a good guy to have around and he provides some great scenes in the film, i know they say you can’t do a pirates movie without Johnny but I think you can add Geoffrey in there too. Speaking of Johnny Depp, do I think that he put in his 55 million paycheck worth of work, well that anyone could be worth that much to do a movie is debatable. Lets just say that all that you expect from jack sparrow is in there. Ian McShane is absolutely fabulous as Blackbeard, a true pirate villan. Now some dislikes, i will just say that yes Penelope Cruz is in the movie and here is hoping that she won’t be in the next. The photography I did notice that there was not the grungy pirate feel to it. Like the new X on the side of Jacks face, seemed like it was more comic book than epic film. Some of the stunts and action in the film seemed a bit stretched or forced. I would just say that Curse of the Black Pearl “felt” better.

So am I going to see the movie again… yes… will I buy the Blu-ray… yes. I can continue to critique, but the bottom line is that you go to these movies to have fun and be entertained and that is what you will get from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
